Re: RAD 2
The two other guys running vintage had a Grasshopper and a Hornet, so I felt bad about bringing a ringer, so I ran my kids' Frog-- and I won.
After running one round of mod stadiun truck I broke and didn't have the part I needed... SO I ran the Rad2 in mod truck 2nd qualifier. Out of 18 entries I qualified 9th and raced the B Main. I finished 1st in the B (7th of 18) and had I made the A main my time would have put me in 3rd!!! The thing handled great and I was running stock rear tires and a 27turn handout motor against lipo'd brushless T4s. I am so looking forward to racing this next month.
Oh, and sorry, no pics from tonight. By the time I broke out the Rad2 it was dark-- we race under the lights in July & August. There will be plenty of pics at the VONats!!!

Re: RAD 2
woohoo! I'm excited over this car.
I allways felt it was the car I needed to do decent at my club back in the days. Kept glaring at the blue eagle in the rcca mag's but they were so badly distributed you'd have hell getting replacement parts.

Re: RAD 2
The Radicator had pink rims and I think the old Bullet tranny. There were gold alloy motor mounts and shock tower. The Rad2 was a step towards the TRX-1 with it's 48pitch tranny.
Here's a NIB Radicator: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=66405&id=5638

Re: RAD 2
Very cool.
Was I right about the Bullet 32pitch tranny and the gold alloy bits in the Radicator?

Re: RAD 2

1711 - Body, Rad-2
1712 - Wing
are back in stock at Buy Traxxas if anyone's been looking!!
I'm impressed that over 2 years from my initial inquiry they are actually notifying me now!

Re: RAD 2
for both it is mostly drivetrain. Updated tranny and motor plate take up most of the differences between the originals and the 2's.3trxvintage wrote:I dont know much about the rad and rad 2 buggies. What is the difference between them?
