Hey guys, I can probably shed a little light on this conversation. First, a little background on this clip. This is the only crazy clip my company has used in my dvds that I didn't shoot myself (or by my camera guy Wes!). I bought the exclusive license to this clip off of a young guy from Scotland about 5 years ago. I saw it on the web and thought it was hilarious - much like the 5 or so production companies that have licensed it off of me to play on their shows (MTV and a few other networks I don't recognize because I'm from Canada).

As for the actual content of the clip, I think many have hit the nail on the head with regards to the lack of helmet and cocky attitude of the girl. As can be seen from some background shots there were about 20 or so drivers and trucks at this event. The group or RCers stayed on a small section of a large track and the girl in question, after yelling profanities on a few occasions, decided to ride straight into the blind jump that was repeatedly being jumped by the nitro trucks.

As someone mentioned, if I was the dad or boyfriend etc. I would have been extremely angry and who knows how I would have reacted but I can assure you that my opinion would have been skewed because of my relation to the girl. The fact is, the hit with the truck wasn't intentional, but the intent of the girl to ride, unhelmeted, directly towards to same jump that the trucks had been jumping was done on purpose. If I was the father or boyfriend, after I calmed down and came back to reality, I would sit my girl down and explain all of the silly mistakes that she had just made. People and attitudes like that girl displayed will not survive the difficulties of the real world if this is how they handle themselves.

But, with all that said... it is a funny clip - nothing other than ego really got hurt - and hopefully this girl got a little smarter because of it.

Jeff

Here's a great clip I shot back in 2004 in Texas.... It has a little happier ending.

Thanks for shedding some light on the facial that chick took. I still say if the guy was lurking in the bushes waiting for an unsuspecting victim to ride by it would be wrong, but clearly that was not the case. if it was real and a person does something stupid that we can all laugh at later then so-be-it. It's not like we're standing outside the Emergency Room pointing and laughing.

Did anyone feel sorry for me when I got drunk on the 4th of July and ran a Losi Slider equipped with a Mamba Max and Castle 5700 into my ankle?? I invented a new word that day "sonofabitchnslider"! That sumbuck had to be doin' 60. 8)

That guy moved like a fat ninja! Seriously, that was good lookin' out. 8) I have a 5 year old daughter so I'm a big softie when it comes to stuff like that. :D

EDIT: Although that was some terrible driving. How could you miss a ramp that big? Not you I hope... :P

Man, sorry to drag this on, but that got me thinking of some of the serious turn marshaling skills I've witnessed over the years. Too bad there are no highlight reels for turn marshaling!

On a completely unrelated note I just stuck in "Ninja Assassin". Terrible name, great movie. :D I like to keep RC10talk in one window and a movie in the other.

Pause the video as it comes out of the turn, it looks like the front left suspension components are already damaged. It might explain why it didn't hit the ramp as expected.
