Re: Hobbies
Car looks great! I collect stamps as well! Where are you at? Looks like the tropics but what country? I'm guessing the Philippines judging from the plate! Yes I have super duper eyes, comes from collecting stamps!

Re: Hobbies
Me too, I haven't looked at my stamps in about 4 years! Right now I'm doing more target shooting when I get time away from looking after my sons MX races and bikes! I have many hobbies but I must have A.D.D, as I can't seem to focus on any of them for a long period of time. Case in point, my Tamiya Bruiser. It just sits, all I have built is the diffs and chassis. My Hot Shot is much the same. My WWII Mosin Nagant sniper rifle project, just sits and all I need to do is drill 4 holes and swap a PU scope! My stamps.... 4 years or more????? Slot cars.... My race track looks more like Baghdad, with all the dust and debris on it! My plastic models that I started a few years ago... Well . My N scale trains... 6-7 maybe 8 years. My RC trail rigs have not been used this year. My RC aircraft are hanging in the garage with a years dust on them... My RC buggies, not since spring ! Racing RC.... Not since..... can't remember.... Spokane 2009 or 10? With my gold pan, got second place and the TQ, that was cool! Need to do that again! What am I forgetting?..... Oh look a butterfly!
Right now my hobby seems to be making ends meet so my son can do his hobby!

Re: Hobbies
i'm the same way with hobbies.
i've sold most of my surplus rifle collection, a sks "d" and albanian sks are all i have left and i'm keeping them.
1:1 cars, the only one i have left is a 74 beetle thats in pieces, been apart for 2+ years now, on blocks.
booze, i love rare booze but haven't bought anything exceptional in a few years esceot for a bottle of pappy van winkles 20yr.
i still race rc a few times a month and i've got a few vinatge projects going on right now....
but that will all change when our house finally sells and we buy our "dream house / farm"
once that happens my hobby will be gardening (intensive raised bed planting), goats (for milk and cheese), chickens (for eggs) and a restored 1948 farmall cub that my father in law is giving us as soon as we have a place to use it.
rc will get on the back burner at that point. i really need to ge the vw road worthy before this happens.

Re: Hobbies
It's funny how life can slow down when you get married, have kids and have the responsibility of financing every last thing. Even r/c gets a back seat now days.
I grew up around water myself so it was only natural to progress from snorkeling into free diving/spearfishing and scuba diving most weekends at one stage. I used to dive alot!
Started out working in mechanics and found my way into a VW workshop for the older cars and buses. This paved the way for a few nice modified Beetles and a sweet split window bus. Used to run with a local club for a while which we started up from a bunch of guys that used to hang out.
Moved away from mechanics and into building becoming a Carpenter. People would ask what i did for work but I would always reply that being a carpenter was more like a hobby than a job. I'm always building something, wether it be fitting out my garage or shed for R/C work space or my latest project- my sons cubby house.
Used to hit up a lot of concerts and music festivals every year. Also snowboard when I can afford it in our snow season.

Re: Hobbies
I enjoy photography and gaming as well. I have a pretty decent vintage video game collection but they are all used, nothing sitting on a shelf around my place, if it isn't hooked up and running its stored in a box somewhere. everything is beat up pretty good.LTO_Dave wrote:Some of my hobbies include:
35mm and digital photography - I've done a few weddings over the years, but I enjoy taking pics of cars at shows/races rather than dancing drunks at a reception.
Vintage video gaming - I'm not much of a collector but I do have a few of the more common older systems that I enjoy using every now and again.
Re: Hobbies
Other Hobbies,
Lets see, basicly whatever my 9 year old is into. I do like to shoot guns and fish. I have messed with Photography since highschool. I enjoy working with wood and landscaping.
The one taking up alot of time right now is Geocaching! We go out at least once a week.
