What wheel/hub connections did these use, I can't remember. Wondering if modern wheels could fit if someone wanted to run it at the track.

Not sure if I'm reading your question correctly but the Optima used 12mm hex so yes you can run modern wheels

Totally buying one of these, can't wait.
Hmmm maybe I need two

Wonder if the shell will be identical to the original

Be interesting to see if it has the original or the turbo/mid wishbones

I still think the Ultima is an inevitable for rerelease so expect that next if Kyosho are doing them in chronological order, and then the mid <fingers crossed>

I really don't need a root canal, but..............

LMAO! Love it.

I really don't need an Optima either, Opt for the root canal? Nah.

If I started buying Kyosho or Yokomo, I would have no money at all.

If You want to go dental - Just pull a cople of front teeth - makes it so much easier to whistle at the Optimas.

I just sold off the last of my Optima stuff. Kind of got disgusted with the ridiculously high priced replacement parts. Now this...sigh.

You're right about that. I've been trying to rebuild my Optima but the prices are ridiculous. $40 for a hardened final pinion , $40 for a limiter gear, the list goes on and on. I just saw a belt conversion sell for $198.50 . Absolutely crazy. I can't wait for a re re so that I can , hopefully , buy new parts at a realistic price.

That's why I mostly stick with cars that I owned when I was a kid. It's a short list: Marui Big Bear, Optima (original), RC10's, and an Optima Mid. Currently I'm missing the Optimas, and have too many RC10's. Actually, that was a stupid statement, you can never have too many RC10's, hehe. This list also, of course, is separate from the modern cars I run......................my god is this an expensive hobby.

Schumacher (CAT swb/xl/xls)can be added to that quote. My experience trying to rebuild my XLS has been nothing but frustrating.
