Re: Joel Johnson Ultima...
I saw the same DVD, and I must disagree with you about the RC10 at that race. Jay Halsey's '10 looked like it was pushing like a freight train the whole race. If they had some better tire compounds (like Kyosho had) it may have been a different story.bormac wrote:Having watched the 87 worlds DVD countless times I dont think any particular car performed above another. It looked like luck played a big part with the success of a driver at Romsay. Bold statement i know but there was a lot of spills and cars being plagued with gremlins.
Although i truly love Joel's Ultima i dont think it was as good a car as the RC10 back then, just that Joel managed to get the car around the circuit with less hassles than some other drivers.
I will agree with you that I think Joel got lucky, the other Kyosho driver's looked faster and the Schumacher cars looked fast too, but weird crashes and slow turn marshalling set the order...

Re: Joel Johnson Ultima...
I have a problem with the wing.
The OT107 MID wing is too narrow!
The Ultima is not good!
I thinks a PARMA wing can be the solution , but what's wing ????
Some body have an idea...

Re: Joel Johnson Ultima...
The wing in the fourth post of the first page looks like an Optima series wing, does it not?

Re: Joel Johnson Ultima...
Hey prp, can you add some more photos on how you attached the body to the chassis? Are you using the mount from the rear tower?
Thanks. I have always wanted to use a Tomahawk body on my Ultima project I am working on.
Thanks.
I really like how clean this car is. i would love to see some bigger pics when you have some time.
