Re: Cliff Lett RC10 Replica
well, i did bolt the rear bulkhead to the tub. but i didn't think that deserved pics and a thread update.
one thing that is holding it up is some machining that needs to be done to the nose plate. i noticed it in a recent pic i've seen of the car. i talked to jake about it, and he's gonna take care of it for me. but, i haven't sent it to him yet.

When you do, I can easlily machine it and have nice clean cuts for you. Just saying is all, not trying to get you to finish a project.....

Re: Cliff Lett RC10 Replica
little update. still nothing built though.
last week, i won this nice little battery lot for under $14 with the shipping.
all packs are matched, and every cell is in beautiful shape. getting these is going to work out great because this replica requires a 6 cell stick pack with an added 7th cell. now, i'll be able to save the 7 new loose cells i have for something else. i really hate building stick packs, and really didn't want to waste the new cells to make one. a couple years ago, thumbs sent me 6 nice used 1700 sce cells. so, i'll be using one of those to make one of these a 7 cell pack, and i won't have to break down either of the other 2.

i can't believe it's been this long since i worked on this car. ok, yes i can....... who am i kidding?
little update. i finally sent the nose plate off to jake to have the milling done, and here it is.
i have no idea when the next installment of this build will be.

Don't rush perfection. That nose looks nice. Jake does do nice looking work.

Re: Cliff Lett RC10 Replica
made some r/c time tonight, so i spent it over by the drill press. i had to drill a couple holes along the bottom of the front tower, as well as add a 4th ball stud location (on the lower row, inside) that doesn't even get used.
on the rear tower, i had to add the inner shock mounting points, and i countersunk the mounting screws since the esc gets mounted low on the tower.
then i started throwing some parts at it.
i originally thought the rear arms were andy's, but i found a better pic of the car and it showed stock arms that were dyed black. i will have to take them back off the drill a larger hole in each arm (forgot about it).
the front steering knuckles are jrx2. cliff's car had custom machined inline knuckles that look very very close to the losi knuckle. so i figured i'd just use them.

Very cool... what year was this from? 89? I don't ever recall seeing it in any RCCA.
Looks awesome though!
