2013 TEKIN VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS • SEPT 13-15TH
Re: 2013 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS • SEPT 13-15TH
r/cat, an ezup is like a tent, keeps the sun off of you.
friday practice, i'm not sure when it starts. i'm local and head over after work and run until dark.
the race is well organized by erich, the original poster in this thread.
we get there early saturday, 8am ish. unpack your stuff, find a spot to pit and go check in. it will all be spelled out for you.
it's and easy race to attend. saturday can be a long day especially if you stay and watch the dirt oval race under the lights.

speaking of tents/etc.. is there room for a trailer? We typically travel to bigger races with a small 6x10 (or 8x12? I forget..) enclosed trailer.. it's really no bigger than an EZ up, it's just a matter of if there is room to pull it in and park it somewhere..

in the parking area there is room. not sure about pulling it into the race area, you'll have to check with da boss, erich.

Do the Li-Po battery’s need to be ROAR or EFRA approved?

And is it still Hole Shot that rules on the track?
Re: 2013 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS • SEPT 13-15TH
hard to tell, i haven't been there this year, but holeshots or double dees are a good option, worn goosebumps too.
last year i used double dees i think.

Re: 2013 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS • SEPT 13-15TH
I am curious, I think the Tamiya Toyota Prerunner (TA02 based 4wd truck) was released before the '94 cutoff date allowed by the Vonats rules. What class would thse fit in, Classics? Or maybe Heavy Metal? That would open it up to the later models as well since they really didnt change anything except for the body.
Re: 2013 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS • SEPT 13-15TH
the manta ray, same chassis and similar release date, would race in classics. the top force's and later ta01/02 variants would be in 4wd due to all the fancy parts.
i think the general concensus is tub based ta01/ta02/df01 vehicles fall into the classics class, whereas the later frp double deck versions fall into 4wd.

Re: 2013 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS • SEPT 13-15TH
I used to have a Chevy S-10 (ta02), which I later put Manta Ray arms on and a Pro-Line Dodge Ram body. Then I put a double deck FRP chassis on it and coverted it to a Top Force. Now I have a bunch of ta02 spares lying around (from other ta02-based projects)...so I'm going to take those and build up a ta02 with Manta Ray arms...again
Should be classic legal.

Re: 2013 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS • SEPT 13-15TH
Thanks for the response to my questions earlier. Another one has showed up
In the 4WD class it says 10.5 and 13.5 brushless motors only. Does that mean it's actually two classes?

it's either a 10.5 or 13.5 motor choice. Both run in the same class.

Don't forget Flipouts and IFMAR pins. I think I used Flipouts last year, and they were great.kaiser wrote:hard to tell, i haven't been there this year, but holeshots or double dees are a good option, worn goosebumps too.
