    that was funny. Thanks man! and thanks for saving the day with regards to the exhaust header. it was great to obtain an "All Original" Nitro DS to compare. Big difference between the DS and GT exit angle of the header. The Duratrax you suggested was the perfect replacement, BRAVO!!! (FAST CLAP, LOL)

UPDATE!!! 12/27/13

Well i just recently acquired a semi built Nitro DS. The build was started in 1999 but was never completed. I took kit apart and replaced practically all the screws with stainless steel. While rebuilding the kit i opted to change the front axles with SC10 4x4 set. This allows me to use modern wheels and fresh rubber. Although this car came with the original wheels and tires in sealed bags, the tires have signs of dry rot. I have an OS .12 CVR engine on the way.

I decided to go with the HPI 1968 Camaro body. The wheels aligned perfectly once i shortened the wheelbase via spacer. (i still need to finish the wing)

Here is a preview...once i finish installing the power plant i will update.

UPDATE:

This is the hardware belonging to the Camaro. I just added traxxas servos and favorite fuel filter by duratrax. The header has been polished along with the pipe. The engine is a .11 OS (thanks Sixtysixdeuce). I replaced the stock head with an O'Donnell polished head. progress is coming along nicely on this camaro

This is the latest addition to my family.

A nitro DS with a GT chassis. She is a complete car...i will need to clean her up and upgrade radio, swap out the chassis for a proper DS chassis and add a pull starter. Maybe add a header and pipe.
Image

This purchase included extra parts and 2 ds chassis. One chassis will be used for this new car. The second chassis will get all the extra parts mounted on it.

The pic is the new chassis will all the extra parts that came with the purchase with the exception of the fuel tank & servo mounts. those were from my spare parts bin.

This needs a complete tranny, dogbones, front axles, body, and engine. it has NIB qualifier shocks as well as NIB silencer exhaust. If i want performance then i will need yo get a header and pipe. i might get front adapters to mount HPI wheels. This has no wheels either.

Im slowly making progress with each car. I hope to be finished with all nitro cars by the end of this year....

let me know what you guys think

I really like the matching pair you got there(color choice)! Those stripes on the Camaro turned out really well and have that appropriate vintage feel. Nice job!

Thanks! Im going to be adding a yellow stripe between the orange and blue on the 41 willy just to get is looking a little closer to the camaro.

Thanks for compliment on the stripes...they were not on the original 1:1 car but i like stripes...couldn't help adding some orange as well,

The new pair of cars are still up in the air as far as bodies.

I'll eventually snag one once I finish off a few of the other projects I have going on. I really need to stop picking up new project cars and focus on the ones I already have. Or so I tell myself!

HAHAHA i hear you...i made new years resolution that i would not get any more cars for 2014..

This year will be for finishing off the projects ive accumulated so far.

here are the DS's gathered at the Knights table...The DS Council.

These are the projects that i have to complete. 4 nitro and 2 electric DS's, not to mention two GT's and two NTC3's.

Always liked the DS but never got my hands on one. What tires are on that camaro? Look like some good ones for dirt oval builds.

Thanks, the tires on the camaro are the HPI vintage tires. I used the wide 31mm all around for the fat wheel look.
