HI!... So I was going through some RC motors tonight and came across this. It's a Kyosho Le Mans 480 Gold. Didn't even know I had this. lol! Anyone got any info on it? Never heard of it but I'm not a Kyosho guy. Was thinking of cleaning it up and seeing if I could get a repo sticker made up for it and using it in my Kyosho Scorpion RE-RE shelf queen.
I don't know much about the 490 that kyosho released but I would get any of their 80s anodized motors , really cool. Anyone know IF there are 'LEMANS' motor decals available somewhere???? Man it JUST looks SO COOL!
I like the red, blue and green Lemans, beautiful colors.

If I were willing to do business with eBay I'd be all over this like white on rice.

The 480 Gold would be fine in the new Scorpion. I restored mine years ago when I restored the Zebra Optima, but I found it wasn't very torquey, at least not in a 4WD on 7.2V NiCad batteries. It strangely wasn't rated for 8.4V use, but I can't really see why not; it had all the goodies that the best Le Mans motors had, including alloy endbell and bearings. I ended up installing it in the Marui Galaxy I resto-modded for my brother.
As far as stickers go...I could be mistaken, but I seem to recall something about UltraHIVE making stickers for motors...maybe he has them for the Le Mans motors?
I don't think the 480 Gold was as powerful as the TechniGold. I would suggest the 360 Gold and 240S/240SB were comparable to the TechniGold, and possibly even more powerful.
Motor data
Turns:
21x1
Normal voltage:
7,2 - 8,4 volt
Normal torque:
430 g-cm
Speed at normal load and voltage:
19000 rpm
Current at normal load and voltage:
14.0 Amp
HI!... O.k thanks. I'm just being retarded tonight. lol! Anyway I can get a repo motor decal for this 480 Gold motor? I'd really like to use it in my Scorpion re-re build.

I'm clueless about the label but if it were me I'd put some new bearings and brushes in it and use it. Looks like it would make a nice motor for the re-re.

A few more option parts and mine will have all the options. I ordered the swing-shaft set from JR-RC but I don't think I'm going to receive them because its been a month now and he rejects all communication.
My only indecision at this point is do I put a brushless LeMans in this car or a brushed LeMans.

Ok so I have been really busy with buying stuff from all over the world and usually its vintage Schuey stuff but recently its been alot of Kyosho also. This is the first of a couple of old Kyosho buggies which are on the way. This is just an early...
The scorpion was my first rc. I picked this one up a while back for a pretty penny, around $150 with a badly melted tub and body. I bought it because it came with a truck load of gears, two graupner diffs and some spares.
One of my 3 Kyosho Scorpions. This I won on ebay a few years ago and had to do a little modernization. I changed out the brush motor for a Tekin 17T and proper esc, FASST Futaba trans and receiver and a SAVOC high volt high speed servo. This car...
