My 2012 Vonat Builds (2WD) (02/18/12)
Re: My 2012 Vonat Builds lol
Quite a build. Would it be possible to sandwich the top plate between the tube and the chassis (where the nut is now)? If it's to thick, perhaps the tubes could be machine a bit more for clearance?

yeah man, flip those nose tubes around and put the tube against the chassis, with the braces against the milled flat, then put a nut on. from that last pic, it looks like it will make the braces not flex inward at all.

It should be noted in the instructions, but you're supposed to shave off the raised squares on both sides of the bulkhead where the brace slides between it and the tub side. That would bring the braces closer to the battery.

Re: My 2012 Vonat Builds lol
Ok, so i am trying to finish up some stuff and i think i am done with this build, It has a 17.5 Brushless setup (Not a major brand but im a noob at racing anyway lol)
I have flipped the tibes in the front and it looks much better
The ESC had to be place on the top of the battery brace, It was to big to sit on the side like most people do, im hoping it does not cause any issues.
Im ready for the 2WD 2012 VONATS
Well kinda, still need to run it and get the gearing figured out lol

Impressive as hell. There's not a ton of contrast in your pics to really get an idea of how the front end looks with the nose plate cut down, wondering if you have any other close-ups? Any worries about running it without a front bumper?

What are those metal spring perches at the bottom of your shocks? Looks like you got them anodized green, but didn't see them in earlier pages. You trying to slip in extras on us without documenting changes!?

That's one bada$$-looking OiN car! Awesome!!!
Question - what springs are these? Are they green for looks only, or because they're the right one for the suspension?

Standard buggy/truck rear green springs and light green truck fronts. I *think* the light green fronts were replaced with a normal looking dark green powder coat eventually, I can't remember the light green springs being a different rate than the later, darker ones. Charlie...? Temple...? Li'l help...?
