Re: rpm ultra chassis build
Personally, just to keep it all RPM but make it a little more 'classic' Associated, I'd dye just the chassis, front brace, and battery retention components black and leave everything else white, making it kinda Team Car-esque.

Re: rpm ultra chassis build
I like the idea about the team-esque chassis colors also but like Joe said the black will leach to the lighter colors. I had a yellow dyed parts mixed with blue dyed parts and the blue leached to all the yellow parts over time.
Not that Jason is gonna have to worry about it but the problem with dying the chassis any color is if you run it the chassis wears away and when the white shows through it looks even worse...IMO anyway. For the shelf and light running it might fair better but mine (used to ) get run regularly hard.
Will look forward to an update in a few years...get that 55 (57?) up and running now will ya

Re: rpm ultra chassis build
I would like to see black graphite shock towers and all black aluminum screws to break up all that white.
Maybe even try black RPM ball cups.
But there is no way I would suggest you dye those lovely RPM parts.
They are what they are.
Throw in a orange Novak speed control and receiver to add some colour.
Cheers, Dave.

Re: rpm ultra chassis build
It only took close to 10 years, but it's a roller. I figured I'd better put it back together before I dyed it all black.

Don't forget to add oil in the shocks!
