Ran The Orange Racer

Post by farmer »

well went and ran her this weekend
she ran pretty dam good ,the bypass shocks still need a lil work the front end was rite on but with a shock move to the outer hole on top was alot better
the rear is a different story, but with a little more r&d ill get it
the novak ballestic started off really slow due to my gearing
im abrushed guy so i started with a calm 20/81 waaaaaaaaaay under geared
moved it up to a 24 the largest i had better! but still under geared
the shop didnt have any larger at the time
i see some 30 somethings in the future
there was no consistancy in the track its was 104deg so as soon as u watered it it would start drying before u could finish watering the track
so that resulted in lots of mud puddles as u can see
the MIP GEAR BOX was flawless was a lil loose the first couple laps
after tighten and some version 2slipper adjustment is was hummming
i only ran 3 packs just to get the feel ,see what things i will need to change
but all in all it was a learning xp
but man i hate clean up!
thx farmer

farmer, I am running 32/72 with my 17.5 & stealth, runs warm, but manageable. 24/81 is WAY off :)

Awesome Farmer! What track do you run at? That looks like a LOT of rear wing too.

rainmans! in bakersfield
ya its a 7'' wing i like it,,, it makes the rear end look fat and the extra downforce aint bad ither
just have to bend the crap out of the wing wire so that the turn marshalls wont pull
it out
back in the day the marshalls knew not to pick them up by the wing but the new marshalls
are use to the captured wings
they havnt done it yet but they will
thx guys

Cool. I put cut down nose tubes into the wing tube holes and use a set screw to provide just some light pressure against the wing wire. With the wire sl bent, it becomes really difficult to pull out unless you back the screws out.

It's chrome paint by a CO called
Spaz stix
You have to be careful what you back it with
Pactra Fluorescent white is the best in my opinion
Makes it pop the best
Though you can back it with different colors
I used a candy blue before and it gave the chrome
A blueish hue

Looks great Farmer! 8) Here's another option for chrome that I remember from somewhere here in the stacks if anyone is interested.
