Well....in my qwest to collect some of my favorite cars from the '80's, I came across this at a local swapmeet. Dig the Marui Big Bear tires... The ol' Cat needs a little love, that's for sure. But with Ebay and the help of this board, I hope to have her looking and running good again.
Progress will be slow I'm sure, as I have a few other projects going as well (don't we all? ) But plan to keep updates as I make progress.

Re: Top Cat Project
Nice project mate Just FYI this was a Top Cat at some point and it is now more a Cougar (the front end with upright shocks was an option before Schumacher released the Cougar kit) as the Top Cat had lay-down shocks. Keep us posted!

Re: Top Cat Project
Thanks for the info! Wow...yours is really nice....
Yeah, this chassis has quite a few "extra" holes in it, some factory, some not. I see now where the lay-down shocks would attach. Unfortunately, one of the holes has been enlarged substantially.

Re: Top Cat Project
The long front suspension looks like Shotgun. I have the long travel suspension on my Cougar 1 and it looks sweet! Thats too bad about the chassis. Good condition Topcat chassis are hard to find but not impossible. May I suggest doing a Cougar 1/Shotgun resto. You may be able to finish in a few months. All the front end parts are still available from Schumacher because the are used on the Nitro 10 series(except the shocks). If you have your heart set on Topcat I have some front end spares I could part with. For the right price

Do ya have pics? I'd like to get this back together and looking nice, but I'm not "locked in" to a 100% stock resto either. (although I do like the lay down shock setup):D8rad wrote:The long front suspension looks like Shotgun.

Can I see some pictures of how those big bear wheels were fitted to the shumacher axles please?
(Just for inspiration : I own neither the car nor wheels)
