I never used to be a beer drinker either, until I moved to a place that regularly sees 100 degree temps in the summer. After that, there was nothing better than an ice, and I mean ICE cold beer to help ya through the day. Now, I really like the flavor of beer - I guess I should say GOOD beer - and am always on the lookout for a well crafted brew.
I suspect that you're much like me and do not like bitterness, which MOST beers are. Bitterness is generally associated with hoppy beer, so if you stick with maltier beers such as porters or ambers, you'll probably find one you like. When you buy macro swill, the likelihood of a bitter beer is almost guaranteed, though there are a few that aren't too bad. Buttwiper is probably the worst beer on the market, they've just had the ability to advertise and dominate the market with their brand of swill.
