My Ascot arrived today...it's still got a decal on it which says it's an Ascot and it's build number 143 and it's got the owner signature..pretty cool to know a bit of history about this car..

Re: Is this an Ascot (what a difference a day makes)

Well I've already started to work on my Ascot I want it to look half decent until I get around to a total rebuild. Anyhow a couple of things I've noticed about this lead me to believe that they weren't made as well as the Big Boys Toys sprinter. The first thing I noticed was that the cage is not welded together as well...lots of pits and holes and even gaps where there is no weld at all...still that's one of the cool things about being hand built every one will be different I might of got a Monday morning build  ...other differences are that the headers are attached using glue or double sided tape..also no louvers in the side panels. This car is as original as they get so I'm going to keep it that way it even still had the little springs in the drive cups..

I ended up with a heap of "wrong" bodys from my BBT but the good news is that one of them was obviously made for this car so I have another paint job to come up with now...ohh well

Anyway here are a couple of pictures of the car as it arrived and how it looks 24 hours later..
