Aussie modified yz834B
Aussie modified yz834B
Here is my modified Aussie Yokomo 834B I raced in the 1980's, fresh from its last race 21 years ago, removed electronics...
There were little RPS yokes in Australia as Schumacher C.A.T's, Mugan Bulldogs, Optimas and hotshots were the rage then, this car has an interesting history, claimed as the first Yokomo YZ834B to arrive in Australia as a sample from the Tokyo Toy fair, and modded with some Delta goodies thanks to Vega RC Hobbies. I only discovered Hot Trick parts because of the Internet and EBay, so the only aftermarket parts were the slipper clutch, gold shocks, and the chassis plate from Delta.
Added features:
48 pitch Gears. Rear shock mount, and 2nd place view of YZ834B. Universal joints in rear, from C.A.T Longer wheel base. Bump Steer minimised. Guard to stopped the chain from coming off, Front and Rear. Weight just on 1500 grams, removed all steel components and replaced with plastic or aluminium.
Worked on adding a front diff but lost interest, still could be done.
The diff would of used the Stock black Wonder dogfighter chain gear with 4 balls.
The drive cups would of been machined to fit.
Enjoy Dean..

Re: Aussie modified yz834B
Hi:
It seems like the out drives of the rear differential was not stock. The original one was a cup for the rear dog bone and this one was a shaft.
I would love to do the same surgery on my 834B.
Which part was it? Also non-yokomo part?
