JRX2 projects thread
Just picked this beauty up today.....complete and in good shape, but the chassis was clearanced on one side for some reason. Shocks and diff are smooth.
Some of the wheels and bodies do not fit, maybe XX stuff.
I plan to clean 'er up, find a fresh body to paint, and maybe install some older electrics to run it.
That is when I find the time between my "other" R/C projects....

Re: JRX2 Pro SE project
Well, I knew YOU would...
I actually had one of these a few years ago, along with a XXX that I just bashed around, before the vintage R/C bug bit......

bearrickster is the real authority on these cars. Most of my best cars came from him. I have this one that is really hopped up that I have yet to race...sorry Rick!

Re: JRX2 Pro SE project
I did that with my losi chassis also because I wanted to mount my ESC on the chassis (flat) vs. on the rear shock tower. It didn't affect anything....HotRodJosh wrote:but the chassis was clearanced on one side for some reason.
Do you know how you're going to build it?...stock, modified?

Re: JRX2 Pro SE project
Well, probably build with a modified motor...
But other than that, there isn't much to do with these things.
Maybe that's why I'm partial to RC10's, all the aftermarket parts, dyeable nylon, etc. makes 'em so much more "customizable" to the individual.... .

Re: JRX2 Pro SE project
That's true. On my jrx pro, I had a ton of upgrades that later found itself on the pro SE. There were still a number of items that I had to address the weak points of the car. By the time the pro SE came around, the industry pretty much knew what worked and what didn't.HotRodJosh wrote:But other than that, there isn't much to do with these things.

Re: JRX2 Pro SE project
I agree....that's why I'm drawn to the older stuff, as I can't leave anything "stock"..haha!
So I took this car apart last night to clean it and the front bulkhead/suspension mount is broken. You don't see it when it's mounted, but I don't think it'd last long if ran.

Re: JRX2 Pro SE project
Same with me...I love building modified versions of a car. That's what I really like about the RC10...there were so many after market items for it. Even if they didn't work, I still enjoy building up a car with those parts.HotRodJosh wrote:I agree....that's why I'm drawn to the older stuff, as I can't leave anything "stock"..haha!

As for the front bulkhead, that's a common part that's pretty easy to find...even NIP.
Good luck with the restoration...

Re: JRX2 Pro SE project
I think I have to disagree with you, if you look at the pro se I built that Gary posted, look at it its is very far from stock. I used XX retro fit trans, XX wheels, front spindles, JrxT RPM ft arms, RPM rear arms, MIP XX CVD's, and so on. theirs a lot you can do to these cars. they will still run with todays cars. they made me race with the 4wd mod cars and it could hang with a stock motor. yes you are right the dyeable parts are cool. but the white parts police will get you these days for that. I worked in a hobby shop back in 1990 and I must have built 100 RC10's and the number one thing was dyeing the parts, I never built one we didnt dye. the white parts looked like crap after a week of racing. were the black we just black. by the way nice car I love them I miss mine very much!!HotRodJosh wrote:Well, probably build with a modified motor...

Re: JRX2 Pro SE project
Yeah...I suppose your right. I guess I just can't tell if a Losi car is modded much (unless it's a 5 link), due to all the ugly, black parts and molded chassis blending in with each other.... They do make good racers and I've always liked Losi's earlier cars.
White parts POLICE!?!?! I must be in a good hiding place, as I've never been "caught" and will continue dyeing nice, white RC10 parts.

Re: JRX2 projects thread
Picked up a couple more JRX2 projects from RedScampi (Thanks Gary).
One's an OG JRX2, the other is a JRXT. The truck was kinda together, but alot of the hardware is rough. The buggy is all aprt and missing stuff...but I plan to use the truck for any parts I need.
Here's where she sits after I started rebuilding her...
