What is this Trans?
Saw this on the bay today:
Is that an old traxxas transmission? anyone know about doing this? Is it a direct bolt on? are there any advantages? Also I don't think any of those a-arms are Associated either.

When I went to S.D.H. it was more fun to kick rocks than it was to watch the football team.klavy69 wrote: as far as San Dimas H.S.football goes they gotta be better to watch than my cowboys yesterday![]()

I saw San Dimas, and that quote came into my head. I went to Damien High School so I'm familiar with the area.

Did you see the game between my Cowboys and the Vikings the other day...kinda the same thingmetallicats33 wrote:When I went to S.D.H. it was more fun to kick rocks than it was to watch the football team.

Might've been something they had 'laying around' but otherwise the motor plate raised the center of gravity with the motor a ton. Those a-arm mounts are molded right into the tranny and are easily broken...tear it all apart and change cases=pain in the butt. The traxxas sliders wear out easily with big motor hp and they suck to change. The tranny 'innards' are weak and easily stripped. I can't run anything beyond 'stock' in my bullet without junkin the trans and the trans case doesn't take kindly to being t-boned at the rear wheel area without cracking.metallicats33 wrote:No advantages huh? seems like an awful lot of work for nothing...
One thing that this setup would be good for is doing wheelys so there is a positive if you are into that kind of thing along with the fact that if you happen to have one sitting around for parts and don't want to spend money it would do in a pinch. These are of course are just my opinions...

Holy high COG Batman! I would be surprissed if it didn't fall over in the first corner it came too, Assuming as klavy69 mentioned that with the COG that the front wheels are even on the ground to begin with......
