Shove this link into a translator for a little info (it's in German):

From:

Probably some Japanese sites out there, too.

I have a vintage Kyosho stock motor labeled as a Tower Hobbies "Legal Action". I think that's a funny name since TH doesn't carry Kyosho anymore! It's newer than the LeMans, I think 1990.

Why do you suppose that is? I know one retailer can't carry every brand out there but they use to carry Kyosho and Kyosho is easily one of the biggest names in RC.

Something about Tower's contract being up with Kyosho in 2005. There's a blurb on one of the Heli forums out there...

I still chuckle about the "Legal Action" motor...

Now I see the connection. Boy I am slow this morning. They should have named it, hey we are going to copy your stuff here. HWAGTCYSH for short :D

I love how all the tower radio stuff looks like Futaba gear

It was a problem with great planes. GP ws the exclusive importer for Kyosho into the USA. Tower is the retail arm of GP. Kyosho decided to import its products itself by establishing Kyosho USA, similar to what Tamiya did when it broke from MRC.
In the changeover Tower has not picked up the product line from Kyosho USA.

As for the tower radios looking like futaba, it is because futaba makes radios for Tower, Tamiya, Duratrax, and probably others. Futaba used to have several distributors(my lhs was one of only 4 or 5 Futaba distributors in the country), but they too centralized to a single distributor for the USA, Great planes.
