Paint noob, RC10 Windows

Well I'm about ready to paint two RC10 bodies, a Protech and a Viper. I've painted two bodies before, a HPI Challenger with window masks and a Protech. I had a real hard time masking off the windows for the Protech and never did get it quite right. My question is, what’s the best way to mask off the windows? What’s the best supply to use?
What I used before was masking tape and kept trimming small pieces till the window was completely covered.

Any tips that might make this easier for me would be greatly appreciated.

i like liquid paint mask, works the best definetly, paint 2-3 coats on, let dry

Iv painted many many bodies..I played the whole oh i don't need liquid mask i have always done it with tape..I have done many more with the mask and the results are great...it is a little more difficult to get as strait a line as tape....Multiple brands of mask are available...big hint put on many coats cuz if u don't, trying to peel a section of fine detail flame ar drip or other graphic sucks. A very light coat will block the paint but trying to push off with finger instead of pull off mask can mess up stuff.

I like making my own window masks, with uncut vinyl sheet from the lhs. XX Main is the brand available at mine. I trace the shape using the outside of the body to approximate shapes. You can lay it up vinyl side down on the outside of the body and pencil the shape on the paper backing. Cut them out with scissors and lay them onto the inside to try out the fit, give them a fine trim where necessary, before you pull the paper backing. Always wash your hands (multiple times if nec) to avoid the enemy greasy finger print(s) anywhere inside the body.

2" to 3" wide 3M blue masking tape (low tack) and an Xacto knife with a new #11 blade. No other hocus pocus necessary. Burnish it down with the back of your fingernail or a Sharpie cap before painting.

I am trying a new method with a couple of bodies; trace the window lines with a Sharpie on the outside, then follow the inside with some 1/8" detail tape. Once that's all lined up, fill in the center with a bigger section of masking tape, or liquid mask. I can never get freehand window masks to look right, even with a straightedge.

You can also cover up any small errors using some black pinstriping tape on the outside, if a Sharpie isn't thick enough to cover the line. I love touring cars bodies for this; I put on the window trim decals first, then mask the windows.
