Front Shock Body Length

Post by Eau Rouge »

Can anyone tell me what the length of the stock OEM front RC10 gold tub shock bodies were? I have two sets sitting in front of me and one is a .9" body and one is 1.06".

TIA,

d

Your choices are fronts .56 or .71 and rears are 1.02 or 1.32. Buggies like the original gold tub had the .56 I believe and with the CE started using the .71. The normal rears were always 1.32 on buggies and trucks. The 1.02 were used on the front of trucks. I hope this isn't a trick question as I would put money on you knowing this. Aren't those sizes you quoted maybe Losi?

No, your sizes are the listed stroke length, Al. I was pretty sure they fronts were short stroke on the short bodies, but I could not remember seeing many people using the longer front shocks. I have both here, and have been trying to decide which to use on the front of this project car.

Thanks for the memory refresher.

I have a couple of A & L taller front shock towers and the shorter one is for the 1.02 shock which I used on a build and it looks pretty cool, the other is for the 1.32 long shock and it looks ridiculous in my view but I saw another one on here not too long ago, and I still think it looked ridiculous but some may have liked it. Sorry I didn 't understand your original question Doug.
