Whats the idea behind having a RC10T rear tower on old is new RC10's versus the standard rear tower?

With respect to Joey (jkracing) I'm going to start this thread so anyone could easily find the RC10T2 mod in it's own thread, and not go digging for it.

But first a little back history on the RC10T and its 1994 ROAR NATIONALS prototype shock...

I had gotten this with a 10T Ebay purchase a while back and didn't notice this aftermarket shock tower. Anyone know who made this and should I include it in my 10T resto / modernization project?

I was planning on obtaining the Carbon Works...

Just wondering if any one knows if you can fit the XXCR rear shock tower/wing mount to a standard XX? It's getting harder to find wing wires for the XX (still have a few left), and the XXCR shock tower/wing mount is a more modern style with body...

Well I just went and looked at my 2 XXcr's and ther is a flat spot on the tower, you could drill it for the xx4 ming mounts like that person did. it should work just fine. I almost did that to mine but their are not predrilled holes in the xx towers.

HI!... I got a bunch of parts in a lot buy. One of the parts was this rear shock tower. It's got the same bolt pattern as the regular RC10 rear shock tower. But it's taller. I've never seen one like this before. Was this a stock tower or is it after...

not really, in my opinion. not to mention, they're pretty much worthless without the trailing arm setup.

hell, daryl lane probably still has a box full of new ones in his garage. :lol:

I recently broke my last spare rear shock tower for my 10T and am looking for a replacement. Problem is I can't find any. None of the rear shock towers for the newer trucks seem like they'd fit. Anyone have a source of replacement towers?...

Anybody have this part on a RR?
Not looking like it wants to fit with the cutout on the body.
I can space it out so the body clears, but the shocks are forward of the cutout.

Also any pics of the Race Prep Dual shock kit mounted?

It should fit with the stock RR body. I modified one to mount a larger shock in. But like Y'ernat said, if you were running one of these you were also probably running a cut down lexan RR body also. What you'll find when modifying your SRB is that...
