XX universal length too short?
So I am at work right now and do not have pics but on my XX it seems the universals at the differential end are very close to the edge of the output at full suspension extension. It is also the case with MIP universals I just installed. If I shim on the inside of the hub to move it in, I do not have neough room on outside of hub for wheel spacer?
Is this normal for a XX?

Are you 100% sure about the XX fitting ?
They can't be XXX BK2 parts ?

Re: XX universal length too short?
I'll take some pics later, I know the MIP kit is XX, it was new in package, I supposed it could have different hubs or arms as it is what the car came with when I got it off Ebay.

Re: XX universal length too short?
Here's the pics, it was the same with the universals in there or the installed XX MIP CVD's. At full extension when it rotates one end of the dog bone as you can see is right on the edge, the other one in a bit as they rotate oblong for lack of a better way to describe.

And then finally the mystery hubs, carriers and spindles, XXT stuff?

Re: XX universal length too short?
hi rcveteran!
i think your trouble lies with what xx buggy you actually have, the original xx uses longer rear arms due to the narrow 1 piece rear end.
the updated xx-cr used a 2 piece rear end with seperate pivot block & shorter arms, check that out i believe that is your problem.

Re: XX universal length too short?
I have two of these on the way from flea bay, so if I understand what you are saying, I have the old narrow rear end, but I have CR length axles. So when I get the kit below installed, the axles would be correct length? Or no?

Re: XX universal length too short?
Actually I have the one piece rear end so it is not a CR, I know I have MIP XX CVD's so then could it be my a-arms (Are XXT arms longer)? It appears the CR and regular XX use same axles, the XXT are different, so I further led to think I have XXT arms. If nothing else I am enjoying looking at parts diagrams.

Re: XX universal length too short?
OK, but the stock universals or at least what came with this car were the same as the new MIP ones I just put in.
So you are saying the CR kit will move the rear hub slightly closer then I guess.

Re: XX universal length too short?
If you notch the pin spacer that the wheel sets on to turn.that aluminum spacer thing its whats holding axle away from diff so notch it or sand it down to get the axle to go in somemore.Don
Some cases their are bearing spacers in the rear hubs too.
