futaba s9601 servo

Post by floodx »

I need replacement gears - mainly the outdrive gear - but doesn't hurt to have the whole set. Does anybody know if any of the Futaba replacement gears sets fit this one - i.e. does the S3002 that is in the futaba table (on their website) as the replacement model have the same size gears? Looks like Tower has a metal gear set for that model for $15.

I emailed futaba but not sure when I will get a reply.

Isn't that a mini servo? What are you using it in? I only ask because I think it would be better to replace the entire servo with a new Hitec or some other cheaper/better model unless you want the s9601 for sentimental reasons(which I completely understand).

It is - I have ordered a MG servo - however would like to keep it as a backup - it has done pretty well for a mini - and I have had it for 20 years.

I can't blame you for that. Sorry, I can't say with 100% certainty on the gears, but I would think so. Can you return items to Tower? I've never tried.
