Future R/C

Post by N2Deep »

The year is 2030 and as I reflect back 20 years ago I can remember all the nice SCT's and rock crawlers I wanted. Gosh I wish I would of sold the house just to acquire as many R/C kit as I would have wanted. Nowadays, r/c kits range from $300 for a basic kit all the way up to $800 for a Team Edition. Ebay is still rocking with the best price but the vintage stuff some 20 years ago can fetch up $2,000 to $3,000 if it was in mint condition and around $4000 to $5000 if it still had the plastic wrap. I remember when they used to groom the track almost like grooming a golf course for a race event. Nowadays, the races are call "OUTBACK" and it consists of racing through mud, grass, rocks, water puddles and get this....sand. The engineering is overwhelmingly sophisticated compared to 20 years ago because of all the brutality of the elements. There's also a new class that just got started from the far east and they have just included flying as an integral part of racing, a new form of R/C racing called 4D Racing. Not only does the vehicles fly but they also have to submerge underwater. All this is done while the racer has a 360 degree High Resolution Camera with all Telemetry on the radio system. Batteries are generated by...wait, can't tell you guys yet but one thing is for sure Tamiya just re-re-release the Frog while the Grasshopper and the Hornet were re-re-release two months ago.

There is also no remote, a 6.8ghz chip is implanted in your head and all you have to is think where the vehicle should go. All this, but no one has standardized battery connectors yet and we now have 876 "ulta low resistance" ones to choose from and I still can't solder better than a blind bear with no paws.
