titanium turnbuckles / tie rods

Post by kaiser »

what are you guys using for turnbuckles?

according to the manual the 10t uses 4 of part# 7253 which are 2.62" long.

i was trying to find some factory team turnbuckles but the closest is 2.80".

i'd really like to find titanium in 2.62", lunsford didn't seem to have them either.

so, what are you using and where did you get them?

thanks,

pete-

You should be able to use the rc10gt FT set. They are 2.62 and there are plenty of them on fleabay.

Amain sells the lunsfords set with hinge pins for about 46 bux. It's labeled as T2 and GT. I think the part# is LNS4012. I looked it up last night and they have them in stock.

I buy alot of parts from RCBOYZ. Good prices and cheap shipping. Never had a problem with them.

yeah, they are saved in my favorite sellers.

so...the plot thickens:

i tried installing the new ones with new rpm ends and they are too long. :(

does anyone know if there's a aftermarket ball end like the stock 10t (meaning short and small) or am i stuck with the factory ball ends?
i could use the rpm ends with shorter turnbuckles but i already have the 2.62's.
does anyone know where i can get the short white ae ball ends that came on the truck? (6274 seems to be the part# but now all thats available is black)

thanks.

Cut down the RPM ones, or the factory AE for the T4 or Jconcepts makes white ball cups-

i can thread the rpm ones on all the way until the threads are almost poping through the cups, and they are still too long.

it's odd, but if i compare them to the stockers the ball cups themselves are longer. i think i need shorter rods.

You can trim the rods too, what kit did you get? The GT/T2 ones are a dead fit but the T3 and T4 are not-

i got the gt/t2 factory team rods. all 6 are the same length.

i cranked the rpm ball ends all the way down and the total length was still to long.

what do you suggest i cut the rods with, will a dremel cut off wheel do?

You can cut it with a dremel but what size are the rods? 2.65 2.80?
