i run my beater fiero atleast 3 times a week, decided to take it for a spin after some hooligan put a pot hole in the road and my fiero found it

the car needed some refitting anyway, tires are starting to wear and the pinion gear has become a sawblade

I can honestly say that I have never worn out a pinion gear before.

well they are brass and it was used to begin with but that still makes me proud... i think?

ive done it to much harder pinions too (rrp 48p steel) and im normaly spot on with my meshing. the rrp i can explain tho, for one thing they are crap imo and the dirt oval track i race at is dry and the resulting fine dust is like sand paper between those gears.

im thinking of going to a plastic gear to preserve the teeth on the diff, i know kershaw designs sells plastic ones, just hope they are 32p

edit: they do not, but i emailed him on the off chance he does

There's a reptile on your car. Probably going to call you and try to sell you auto insurance. Just saying...

It's great to see another Fiero on here, you don't see them very often.

If you pick up a steel 32 pitch pinion, you'll never chew one up again.

It's been so long since I ran mine, I forgot how much fun they were.

I dig the rubber rear tires, what are they off of?
Projects and shelfers:

the tires are the (discontinued) proline mini-t road rages, i cat the bead out and glue heavily without it wicking up into the foams
