Hi guys, I want to get into the 2.4stuff but the choice in the cheaper range seems limited when I want 'sticks'.

Spectrum for example only has pistol grips in the category 'surface' radios. I've read somewhere the difference between both categories is only in the receivers alimentation voltage. So can I get an air radio and put a surface receiver next to it it... or is there more to watch out for???

I'm not sure what the actual differences are, but I am fairly certain it is against the law to use an air radio on land. You'd have to check your local laws.

That's old: air used to have a different frequency range (for example 35mhz) from land (27mhz).
With 2.4G that rule makes no sense anymore.

I tried the speed run thing, gave up after I couldn’t keep the car on the ground for pretty much the same reason. You think the surface is smooth until you hear the car scraping the whole time.

I've been contemplating making a small 1/12 scale on-road track in my basement. I've got plenty of room for a small track with 4' wide lanes. My basement floor is concrete and I don't wanna spend too much $ on carpet so I was thinking about painting...

A main had a spectrum dx3.0 radio on sale so I picked it up along with a spectrum s6020 servo. Now I am looking at brushless combos. Ecelorin, novak, ae, mamba, etc. Will they all work with this radio? It is all going into a nib losi xxxbk2 kit that...

Looking to buy a nice (but price wise) Transmittter and reciever for my 2.5 T-maxx. Steering servo was bugging out. I switched the throttle and steering wires from the reciever and steering on the throttle channel worked great. Of corse the throttle...

Does anybody use stick radios anymore? I went to the store today to pick one up and found my options very limited. The shopkeep told me that no one uses them. I feel like such a dinosaur.

Are these radios worth anything? I'm not big on vintage electronics, but I saw these on craigslist at a pretty cheap price.

I haven't seen Kraft radios bring any real money before. They are old enought that they no longer comply with FCC regs, so they are technically illegal to use. However, you never know what they will go for on e-bay. Good luck. -Jeff
