New Guy with a Vintage rc10CE, I have a shock question

Post by fluidpower »

Hello all,

I bought the car new in 92 (I believe) and thrashed it for a couple of years before being bitten by the hot rodding bug. I find myself for the first time in years without a winter hot rodding project. I dug out the old RC10 and thought it would be fun to revisit this activity. After doing some research for spare parts I ended up here. I used this site to determine what type of buggy I have. I have the CE version with the new and improved shocks. (The owners manual came with the additional instructions on how to assemble them) It also appears I do not have the stealth transmission. Now my question. For reasons I cannot remember, I do not have one of the rear shocks. I would like to buy a replacement set. I do not care about originality. Can someone point me to the type of shocks that would work on this car? Part numbers or brands would be awesome. Or at a minimum, tell me what else I need to know in order to get the right size or type? Thanks for the help. I am sure I will have a lot more questions.

Scr8p,

Thanks! Ordered!

I was talking to a buddy of mine at a Christmas party last night (12/17). Seems he has an RC10CE as well. He didn't want his 'junk' (his words) and $20 later(!) I walked out of his house with a another RC10CE, a Hobbico charger, an old 2 stick Traxxas radio and a handful of batteries! The shocks need rebuilt as they have leaked out all the oil in them and it still has the old mechanical speed control. Whew, just like any other hobby, the money can go fast!

Thanks again,

DW
