Re: PROJECT A&L Conversion custom
A bit of progress,
Made these (bumper and motor guard) on the weekend, they need a bit more sanding and they are almost ready to install.

Re: PROJECT A&L Conversion custom
Neat project!
I had always wanted to do a steathy Sand Scorcher by using one of these conversions.
It would be cool to do a semi-scale VW pan type chassis with the 'Scorcher's front end, & the (light years) better rear trans & suspension...

Re: PROJECT A&L Conversion custom
wow, nice work Miguel!
Hard to believe where you started with this project. It's progressed very nicely.
Any more thought's on a body, or did I miss a post...wouldn't be the first time

Yea, this project is looking better every day. You are going to like the next photos later this week.vintage AE wrote: Any more thought's on a body, or did I miss a post...wouldn't be the first time
Not sure about the body, I wanted to see what I have in stock but I am thinking I want an aftermarket body. I really never liked how any RC10 body fits the A&L rear end, so I am thinking.
Thanks for all the comments... I actually made this sort of bumper for my RC10 Racers a long time ago and sold some on the B/S/T thread. I did made some extra ones this time to sell a bit later.Daryl Lane wrote: Miguel this just keeps getting nicer and nicer! Great job on the bumpers!
I had to make this one shorter than the regular bumper because my chassis front end is shorter than other A&L chassis I have seen. It did not look like it was cut or anything but the space from the most front screw holes to the front tip of the chassis looks shorter than other I have seen.

Re: PROJECT A&L Conversion custom
Hey Miguel, is kydex dyable? They used some at work last month on the walls (by the 4x8 sheet) and I snagged a few scraps form the trash. Only thing is they're kind of off white/tan in color.
Your A&L is looking great. Cannot wait for the next update!

kydex is not dyable, at least the ones I have, I do have a white one and is very white but not white as paper and you cant dye it.

Re: PROJECT A&L Conversion custom
PROGRESS
- Change the wheels
- bigjeepzz Spring collars
- custom front and rear bumper install
-
I am waiting for the rear bulkhead to arrive so I can fit it and start concentrating on the body.
More pics later, after new rear bulkhead is install and I star working on the body and wing.

Re: PROJECT A&L Conversion custom
Yea Reg, this car is looking a lot better than I originally expected when It arrive at my door step. Thinking that I was going to throw the chassis away, this car has a lot of hand labor on it and it was all worth it.
