Green speed controllers limit?
Green speed controllers limit?
What motors can I match up with the original green speed controller that came with my Championship Edition?

Re: Green speed controllers limit?
yes, the mechanical one.
i remember just throwing any old motor at it as kid and over heating and falling apart so I want to be sure. I am putting it back in the RC10 I am restoring.

Re: Green speed controllers limit?
A modern 19T might even be too much for it. The newer brushed motor have so much draw, they'd be like a much hotter motor (i.e. lower turns) back in the day.
I would be really careful to not trash a nice vintage mechanical speed control. I would stick with very mild vintage mod motors, or better yet, a modern 27T stock motor.
Just my two cents. I mean, I remember burning MSCs up in the bad old days just using stock motors, too.

Any vintage stock would be good. The blue label associated stock would be best, if you have one.

Picked up a used stock motor for 20 on eBay
All I need to complete it are the wing tubes and nose brace tubes. Both seem impossible to find

Re: Green speed controllers limit?
I have been running a newer 17x2 motor in through the mechanical speed controller on my rig for some time now. Haven't had any issue with it so far.
Of course now that I say that my buggy will catch fire the next time I take it out to play.

Get these and strip the annodizing. Give a quick rub with a little metal polish and they look great.campbuds wrote:All I need to complete it are the wing tubes and nose brace tubes. Both seem impossible to find

Both tubes can also be easily made out of 3/16" diameter thick wall aluminum tubing.

I have a spare set of those. How do you strip the anondizing? Guess I could just buff those out. Thanks!
