My office closet infected with RC cars

Post by Asso_man! »

Hey guys, I thought I would share these pictures I just took at the office as none of these cars have ever been presented here yet though I have had most of them for a long time. I sometimes have my stuff delivered at the office as I can't afford to miss the postman when he has to deliver a car/part I've been searching for years. I just love these cars here as I can open the closet at any moment and show them to any interested visitor. You will also notice a collection of aluminium goodies that I collected at big events and large fairs as I am working for the aluminium industry. There is in the second picture a very nice RPS Yokie with MiniMag wheels and that needs a bit of work to be finished (i.e. paint bodyshell, mount front bumper and aluminium front a arms and design/cut a special battery brace for the optional chassis that is on it. You will then recognise a very nice example of a Works '93 that must have been run for 3 packs and stored away. It just needs a good cleaning and a new shell that I already sourced. Next is a ROBBE 1/12 Porsche 917/30 that was offered to me by my boss when he saw the cars in my closet and learned about my addiction, lol. Last but not least is an AYK Gator that I only bought for the rear Goodyear tires and that I plan to sell one of these days (Pink Floyd music in the background). Have fun!

The AYK is very cool.
For anyone like me who has never seen one before, this is what it looks like with a body:
I must admit I wasn't too familiar with the AYK vehicles before finding rc10talk, but since then I've taken a bit of a shine to them. I especially like the bodies.

I have about everything delivered to my office as well. Then I can sneak it home a couple items at a time. :D As the basement fills up my wife will eventually ask where all this came from, but for now it is a covert operation.

I do it when she is not home yet. It isn't as much about sneaking that I spent the money, it is more about having to explain everything. The how many of the same thing do you need talk gets old. She doesn't see the difference between a short arm six gear and a stealth CE much less between an RC10 and a SRB. I try to keep my craziness to myself.

Speaking from experience, never share what these cars are worth because when it comes time to divorce, they'll want half. :(
