Tamiya is really hitting some home-runs here lately....

* Piss off collectors with the repro decal crap
* Base the Blackfoot 3 off a crap looking chassis when they already produce the original BF chassis lol
* then the hideous looking impractical POS below lol (What is it made to run on? 4wd off road paved courses?)

From the looks of the 58497 Tamiya Vajra (Avante Truck) they have no clue what people want lol, For over 500 bucks .... What are they thinking lol

Seems to be based on extended Avante chassis with Super Levant body and wheels. Considering the fragility and outdated performance of the AV, as wells as the high price and mediocre looks, the team of Tamiyablog is quite disappointed. Also its specs aren’t impressive:

Very strange marketing from Tamiya, a vintage chassis stretched and with "New School Wicked" styling. Who the hell is that supposed to appeal to? I might have been interested if they they had done a realistic body ala Hi-Lux / King Cab and down to earth livery.

Maybe they need to shift a load of the Avante parts stock they have and came up with this, which is possibly why it's aimed at the modern RC market?

Only thing I am interested in now is what shocks it comes with, silver Hi-Caps anybody?
