Old ESC with Lipo battery
I've been looking for an old school Tekin 410K esc for a while now and finally found one. I just realized that all I have are lipo batteries. Is there anything I can buy, like something that would go between the esc and battery that would give me low voltage cutoff?

Try the Hobbywing one. As long as you dont mind buying Chinese. They can be had for 10 bucks if you shop around.
Sure beats 25 if you have lots of cars.

I use a low voltage alarm. It doesn't lower or kill power to the car. All it does is start beeping very loudly when the voltage gets too low. There is no problem hearing it. I got it for $5 but at this point we're really penny pinching!

Re: Old ESC with Lipo battery
I run lipo's with all my old esc's. No problem! As long as you stop running as soon as you notice a voltage drop, you will be fine. I have never seen any of my packs under 6 volts. With lipo's 3 volts per cell is your lower voltage limit! 2 cell 7.4v pack = 6 volts, 3 cell 11.1 = 9 volts.
If you ever go below that and your charger will no longer charge it! You quickly charge the lipo in nimh mode for 1 minute to bring the voltage back up to 6 volts and then switch back to lipo mode on the charger! This method works if you catch the low voltage mistake right away!
