So having studied the various clips of the process i finally received my dye yesterday and set about getting my white wheels dyed black for my stealth look b3 team attempt.
The rears were TT and the fronts the nasty Duratrax. (I thought I'd try them anyway.)
The good news is that the rears turned out well but the fronts deformed whilst in the hot water and the dye did not take to them - they ended up a sludgy brown colour.
I've got pics to upload tonight so you can see yourselves.
I'm still trying to find the ultimate white 2.2" wheel as a direct replacement!

These guys are great. I have purchased 5 sets of wheels from them so far, and will continue to do so as long as they make them. I usually buy white or black from them..... But they are for the original RC10 though.

Re: RIT dye vs duratrax and TT wheels!
that definitely means the duratrax wheels are a plastic blend, and the reason they aren't very durable. Also proves that using a non-foam safe CA on them will further weaken them as well.
nice experiment, sorry the wheels melted on you though.....take a look at JKracing's thread where he heated up some jconcepts and stock B4 wheels and pressed them to re-mold with them with a great offset to better match the original offset.
