Optima Mid score +model ID help
I just won this tonight:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290595406641&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&autorefresh=true&autorefresh=true
It was $50 more than my opening bid, but still a pretty decent price. Does anyone know what version of Mid this is? I thought it might have been an SE, but the chassis doesn't match up. Maybe a Mid Special? Or is it just an aftermarket chassis...?
Either way, I'm pretty stoked. I never owned an Optima Mid!
**EDIT**
I thought I'd add some pics from the auction, so that when the auction disappears, there are still some pics to go with the thread.

I can't help on the ID Tim but you did well! That is a very clean looking car. More pics when you get it!

Based on the shocks, towers & swaybars, I think that's mid se. Aftermarket chassis and losi bell cranks. Hopefully, it has ball diffs.
Lots of potential in that car...nice score.

I think I lucked out because it was poorly labeled. If it weren't for the 'Kyosho' part, there was nothing in the titled that would lead you there.
It does look nice. Even the tires look to be in great shape. I can't wait to get this one in my hands!

Nice pickup, Tim!
I have a new Composite Craft chassis that looks similar to that, I'll check if they're the same.

Cool, thanks Marvin.
Which of the Optima bodies fits the longer chassis? Just so I know what I should look out for.

Re: Optima Mid score +model ID help

Damn it, I just typed a reply, but it crashed on me.
Anyways, the short version is:
Yes, it is definitely short, you can see it here: (A) is where the original shock tower location was, and (B) is where the shock tower is now.

That would be pretty cool. This would probably be a good contender for a vintage runner.we should run some vintage at ferraro's one day.

Re: Optima Mid score +model ID help
LWB bodies are the Optima Mid Custom, and Custom Special... Turbo options just changed the graphics I think... I'd go with the Custom Special. Airplane canopy/futuristic style.... The standard Custom is pretty much a longer, and maybe narrower mid body. Kind of Lazer ZX5-ish. Good luck Tim, I'm excited to see your progress.

Lazer series bodies will also fit as far as length is concerned.
