April showers B4.1

Post by jon burrows »

been stashing whatever cash i coulfd for a rainy day while waiting for b/s/t access (trying to be patient   ) until i went to the lhs tis past thursday. i just couldnt resist a nice factory sealed box  , and made a quick rash decision against my better judgement. pretty happy though that i finally have a runner while on the great part hunt. i wish there was a track in the nyc area :(

Is there really not? :? I would think with a population like that there would be several. In the burbs anyway. Nice scores BTW.

not only is there no track to race in NYC, there isn't even a hobby shop in manhattan! i did find 2 mini Z tracks, one on staten island and one in the bronx. it also looks like there is a track in da boogie down bronx, which is a good 90 minutes from me. may have just had a business opportunity brewing in my brain :)
every time i go to a hobby shop and ask if there is a track anywhere around, their response is alway the same; nope!

not far from manhattan at all, but gunhill is at one corner of NYC, and I'm just about at the other corner  , not that I'm complaining. Looks like the closest there is to NYC. Maybe I'll check jersey.

Long Island? I raced a few times at a dirt track on LI, I think on route 110 & carpet somewhere near there too, but I can't remember where. It was almost 20yrs ago...

Sorry, when I said NYC area, I meant the 5 boros, just habbit. I'm on Staten Island.

Thanks for all the track info! I'm going to look into barnstormers too, if I could just convince my wife to take a nice Sunday drive with the kids, and oops, hey look an r/c track! I just happen to have my gear with me
