Traxxas 15 engine in stinger mkII?

Well as it appears, my os max cz engine seems to have very little life left in it. I was thinking of putting the traxxas 15 engine in it. Anyone know if it will fit with shaft and all? Also the .18 kyosho engine for the dbx 2.0 looks tempting for only $75

I pkicked this up in a LHS. Kind of like a bye-bye-Japan present for myself.

Why is an english manual for the Stinger MKII so hard to locate? If the MKII was purchased new from Tower Hobbies BITD, would it have had an english manual? BTW, I have the Japanese version but somethings are hard to interpret.

I have had my Kyosho Stinger MKII stripped down to the last screw for a few weeks now. I needed shock oil, and diff grease before I could start to rebuild.
The car has had quite some use and It took me quite a lot of work just to get the parts...

I raced dirt oval back then.

I customize a top plate and shock towers using G-10 added a .21 tank for extended run times.

I used a cut down .21 18 tooth to fit the .12, was fast down the straights. I had better luck with the nylon spur gear...

Thanks, Once I went with 18 toothbell I was flying down the straights. I think I won all the local races when I ran the Stinger, here some of the pins it won.
Ran it with a sideway body and a big side wing.

Found this lonely Stinger on eBay and I was the only bidder. Removed the too new CZ-Z and will be installing a CZ-2 as soon as I clean it up. This is a late version with the black shocks and belt guard, early had red shocks. Later yet I believe they...

I ran a electric converted stinger back in the day, custom chassis with saddle pack and a spur gear adapter to run a standard spur. It was ok, but I hadn't run much 4wd yet either lol. Lots of good memories of my first gas car, it seemed so fast...

This is really cool, a functioning, tiny v8 engine. They had a writeup about it in the latest Car and Driver magazine.

Sad story about what happened at the foundry. He used to advertise the 427 in RCCA during the 90's. Personally I liked the look of the 427 better as the 609 is pretty modern looking. Regardless he is still an extremely skilled craftsman.

Anyone know the differences between the Traxxas Image .12 and TRX .12 engines? Parts interchangeable?

Nothing is interchangeable. The image was a pretty terrible little engine with a glass (not literally) connecting rod. The TRX was a whole new design.
