Re: XXT-CR
What you have is the later XXXT not a XXT..... both great trucks & will handle brushless systems with ease - I currently have both a XXT & XX buggy running relatively hot brushless motors, & up until recently have been racing a XXX buggy (with mid-motor conversion) running a 6.5 brushless.
The beauty of having a XXXT is that many parts are still available from Losi since the chassis is still in production in the form of their 1/10th short course truck.

Re: XXT-CR
Yep, ditto what Dan said - I have XXXT-CR (essentially the same) and I use an LRP 5.5 in it with a lipo and it runs no problems, if anything a little too fast as the motor does run rather hot!
There does seem to be a common misconception about today's brushless motors/batteries and older cars/trucks. If you look at the Losi cars in particular, there is barely any difference in the transmission components from (at least) the 'XX' series onwards. The transmission changed for the XXX, but the actual internal components stayed almost the same design, maybe slightly larger diff gear etc, but same materials and layout etc.
