TLR 22/22T

Post by FasterLouder »

So...Anyone runnng a 22 or a 22T?
I sold my X Factory X-6 & X-60 and just ordered one of each from Losi Parts House. 8)
The X cars just seemed cobbled together, compared to the 22/22T...And the bolt on battery strap in the X-60 was getting old.
Managed to sell them for enough to pay for the 22's,so it was a no brainer, really.
Excited to be racing Losi cars instead of Associated for the first time in 7 years!
Can't wait. :D

It will be interesting to see what you think of Losi then.

I have raced every losi car since the XX . To me the design has always suited me & my driving style.

The 22T is a great truck but it has heaps of steering.

To me since Horizon took over Losi the quality has really dropped off.

Report back to tell us what you think.

I'm interested,too.
The last Losi I raced was a XX CR and I loved it...I did run a XXXT CR MF2 a few times and bashed a Losi 8IGHT E and I thought the quality was pretty decent, nothing broke and I bashed that 8IGHT E pretty hard!
Since the TLR re-branding I think the quality has really stepped up a notch, too.
I'm going to build the truck in mid motor format and the buggy rear motor,to start with.
They've been shipped, but I'm going away to Queenstown for the weekend in 10 days-It'd be just my luck for the kits to turn up right as I'm about to leave!
That would ruin me!

Hmmm, good luck with the Losi's. I just sold my 22 and 22T and replaced the buggy with an X Factory X6 squared. I had lots of setup issues with my 22's. Seemed like I could do nothing to resolve a low rear traction issue.

The kits arrived-I got stung with a Customs charge of $150,too  first time that's happened...and hopefully the last!
I built the buggy first,in rear motor format, then the truck in mid motor format.
A very enjoyable build!
The only goofs I found in the instructions were the number of spacers that slide on the inner rear hinge pins,no biggie,I just added a few more, later.
I've only driven the buggy,so far and I am pleasantly surprised!
This sucker has TRACTION!
I'm used to driving mid motor stuff,too...
I haven't been able to drive the truck,or convert the buggy to mid motor because my freakin' saddle pack LIPO has yet to arrive. :(
The buggy is running a Novak Havoc Pro,a Novak 6.5 turn Velociti motor and a brutal Airtronics 94578 servo.
The truck is running a Mamba Max Pro ESC,a Novak Ballistic 8.5 motor and a HiTec HS995MG servo.

The ESC in the truck keeps falling off it's mount,I'm using Parma servo tape, has anyone else had this problem?

Went with some new colours for this season...

The LIPO saddle pack arrived today. 8)
I am in a state of shock and awe at the trucks handling,it makes the T4 based suspension of my old X-60 feel so outdated it isn't funny.
It's landing a little nose heavy, but the brass 60 gram weight kit installed at the rear will soon fix that.
Can't say enough positive things about these cars,if you want the best race cars around,go the 22's.
I want to trade in my SC10 for a 22SCT,now!

I know this thread is a bit old but I just bought a lightly used 22T and looking for advise. It seems to be set up from the manual and Im really unhappy with the way it drives,it has little steering but then when the back comes out a little it becomes uncontrollable.Im no set up expert so if anyone has some input I would appreciate it.Im running a 13.5,rear motor.

I didn't run mine much before selling it to get a 22SCT, but I noticed the same thing you did.
I saw an article on petitrc.com where some guy says he came up with a conversion for these trucks, and he said it "fixed" the truck.
It was pretty cool, you might check it out.

Are you running rear motor,or front motor?
I think they were designed to run mid motor.
Mine's set up mid motor with 59 grammos of brass weight in the back, running a LIPO saddle pack and a full size servo.
It nose dived pretty bad before the weight was added.
Handles and flies great,now...
