Frog Ball Diff?? is this a Thorp??

Post by billetproofcustoms »

I recently aquired a really rough original frog, I immediately began rebuilding it, opened up the tranny, and found a ball diff/slipper clutch in it. i knew these were not stock back in the 80's that i remember. Is this a Thorp? or is this a Tamiya hop up piece.

Please help!

^ I concure Dr...

32 pitch Thorp. It's amazing it doesn't have any chipped teeth. I think I blew out 1 or 2 in my Beetle back in the day with a mod motor.
