Nitro Storm

Post by Meanee »

I have a Nitro storm 21-xs.
I have had it about 15 years.
it has the original box and instructions.

I get it out from time to time to play with it.
The engine puts lots of oil on chassie and running gear.

More recently I have decided to clean it up and put it aside. Just the engine to clean.

R there many of these out there?

Cheers

Meanee,

I have had one of these in my possession since August 2006.... at least, that's when I put it in my TamiyaClub showroom! You can see it here: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=50458&sid=154.

Not a lot has happened to it since I got it, though, unfortunately..... my Schumacher nitro range are all a bit like that

I have some other parts for another one as well, including another black heavyweight chassis pan..... not sure when I'll get to that one!

Good to see more of these out there....

I have the touring car version (shameless plug - it's new built, and it's for sale)... same cougar-based platform, different wheels/tires and body but in essence the same car :) I bought it to cannibalize it in order to rebuild my own teenage years' STORM (electric one) which I still have but in the end I also bought a couple of STORMS too

Schumacher once had all segments covered with quality stuff!!

Paul,

Must you continue to tease me with this??? I should have bought that long ago, but fate stepped in the way..... many times....

Actually, yours is a Nitro 10 rather than the 21XS.... the 10 had a .12 or .15 motor, whereas the 21XS has a (surprise surprise) .21 engine, as well as a steel rather than alloy chassis. Also, the 21 has the second generation gearbox..... I think yours had the first generation, Cougar-derived, transmission.

Still, I have to agree, at the time Schumacher was quality in a whole bunch of areas.
