What bodies fit a T4.2 ? - Finished
I know this will probably be a dead end but what non forward cab bodies fit a T4.2 ? The front shock tower is the tricky part as it is taller and wider than a "standard" tower which wont fit in a normal stadium truck hump.
I was hoping to use the factory T4.2 tower but hate forward cab bodies so much that I'd put a older tower on it just to run a normal body. I was hoping for an old school look.
The T2 body fits with an old tower and swapping the shocks to the front of the rear tower. The T3 body fits with the older T4 front tower.
Anyone play around with one and different bodies?

Re: What bodies for a modern truck?
Well, looking around the Losi XXT body looks the most promising. Either A8016 or A8017, although I cant tell the difference between them. Might have to ask in the Losi forum.
Anyone have one to try?

Re: What bodies fit a T4.2 ? (Problem solved)
After playing around and a bit of luck with front body mounts I managed to get a T2 body to fit. I didn't think it would fit properly due to the rather different front shock tower.
I think it came out killer, all the benefits of a T4.2 with "vintage" flare
Cant wait to give it an old school paint job. I think it will get a few looks at the track.

Looks good! Much better than that ugly bulldog body that comes with it!

Yeah, I couldn't stand to run that body. I absolutely hated it with a passion at first but it has grown on me a little bit, but not enough to want it on my car.
I like the vintage "square" look, wonder how many will look at my car on the grid and say look at that idiot running an old car.

What did you have to do to the body mounts to get it to work? I'm anxious to see it painted up!

Re: What bodies fit a T4.2 ? (Problem solved)
The front shock tower is a fair bit wider and wont fit in the hump of the body. It touched the top of the fenders before the body would hit the posts. I thought I'd have to cut and extend the stock front body mounts. Luckily I had some SC10 body posts which fit in the stock location and were longer.
I was also able to leave the shocks on the back side of the rear tower although they would fit the body better on the front side. I'm pleased all the factory geometry hasn't been altered.

I guess you don't like the interceptor body? (1st gen T4 body)

I dont mind the interceptor body but it doesn't fit the 4.2's new front shock tower. The interceptor body has also remained basically the same since its inception.
I think rocking it at the track old school would be pretty cool......... At least for us old farts

Oh yea, I forgot they put the SCB front on it.
That Proline Cab Forward body looks like a tadpole.... Or the equivalent of a tadpole,

I actually don't mind the JC Finnisher CF body, at least it still resembles a normal truck sort of:

Here's my retro rendition. I was hoping to have my stickers made by now but they aren't ready so here is a teaser.

Good call on non-cab forward bodies.
Surprised to see a T2 body work, I figured it would be too short.
You can run T4 bodies on T2s if you run them in the long setup.
