Picked me up a GTX
Found a GTX lurking in a classified ad amongst 3 other cars that the guy had for sale.
None sold and I managed to score the GTX for $50.
It's missing the clutch, clutch bell and throttle servo mounts-I have a spur gear on its way,a brand new chassis, and just installed the brake drum/slipper backplate...I found a NIP pipe hanger in my Losi bin, too.
Glad to see I can get a body from BlueGroove,I even have two NIP decal sheets for it.
Having trouble finding rims in white, the fronts are OK,I had one new rear here, but the other rear is nasty.
The rears are the same as XXT,but the fronts are LXT/GTX specific.
If anyone can help with the throttle servo mounts and the rims(s),or know where I can find 'em.I would be most greatful.
Aftermarket parts for these trucks are CHEAP!
Got a pair of Trinity hinge pin blocks for $6!
Always wanted a GTX,they were sold only through Horizon Hobby,it's also the last truck I needed to complete my JRX-XX collection.
Here she is,the OS engine has lots of compression,I'm just waiting on a gas tank and a head shim before I can fire it up...I'm planning on running it for a week or two, then put the NIP chassis on it.
Always regretted not running a car before I restored them, wish I'd done that to many of mine!

Re: Picked me up a GTX
Helluva find...already said this in another post, but I bought a GTX, built it, never got it to run and lost interest...now the trail runs cold in mom's garage. I think she sold it at a garage sale and can't remember.
I found the starter, the box for the OS Max motor, and even a jug of nitro...no car.

Re: Picked me up a GTX
I picked up a spur gear from The Old RC Shop-it's a 74 tooth spur, and on the spur it also says '20 pinion'.
Will this only work with a 20 tooth clutch bell/pinion?
Or is it just a suggestion?
I've found 17 and 19 tooth pinions,but no 20s.

Re: Picked me up a GTX
Not an expert on the gas stuff, but I think you should use the correct pinion. I think it is done that way because the engine mount is not adjustable to move motor closer to spur. They use to sell them in pairs.
A-9379 20 Tooth Clutch Bell w/74 Tooth Spur Gear
But I could be wrong on this, I have never run any of the gas trucks.

Crap,the motor isn't unadjustable.
Better go look for a combo,or a 20 tooth bell...
