Scored one today on Craigslist along with some other random parts.
If I have a 3 channel receiver I can run it on the car, right? Curious to see if anyone has done this before, and if it makes a difference in performance...

Re: Novak Cooling Fan
My opinion is that fans are usually a good thing; to the point that they lead you down the road to tall gearing and the excess heat is masked by the fan....
Just like any other potentially performance enhancing accessory, prudence can be a good thing! I run fans on several of my higher performance trucks/cars and they have always proved to be a great way to reduce marginally hot engine temps. BUT, as I'm sure you know they probably are NOT going to allow that 5 tooth pinion increase many of us dream of!!!
These guys have an amazing assortment of fans: http://www.rc-mushroom.com/index.php/accessory-c-350
and so do these guys:

So, enjoy the fan experience - just be careful!!! My E-GT sounds like a helicopter firing up when I hit the switch!

Re: Novak Cooling Fan
Is it as simple as mounting it on the motor plate and plugging it into the 3rd receiver plug-in? It kind of looks like it was made for a brushless setup, but I'm going to try and mount it on a Losi Junior2.
I have an old-school Parma heat sink too that clips onto the motor, and I'm going for exactly what you're talking about...want to run a mod motor in the 14-19 turn range with tall gearing so I can still have some decent top end speed.
