RC10 Aftermarket Suspension Arms and kits

Post by TheSpeedway »

When were the first Aftermarket suspension arms offered for the original RC10. In 1986 in Colorado after I was out of racing I would still visit the track occasionally.
I don't recall seeing any aftermarket "commercial" arms on the cars that were running. I do recall a guy named Tim Hougen who had fabricated his own long arms for the front of his car at that time out of sheet nylon. I hear he is fabricating A Arm front ends for Baja Bugs these days so that makes sense.. lol

* What are the earliest commercial units available and who made them? Front or Rear.. any and all.

Suspension kits as well.
* MIP
* A&L
etc

andy's were probably the first "commercial" long front arms. around '88.

crp had wide axles, and hot trick and composite craft had the wide nose plate and front tower to use with the short arms.

Thanks, what was the wide nose plate made from? Was it a replacement aluminum unit? I have a buddy that just picked up an old carbon chassis RC10 that has short front arms and the nose has the mounts further apart to make it a wide front end. Smart.

1) When did RPM come out with their wide arms?
2) When was the A&L trailing rear end kit (cox clone) first available?
3) When was the MIP kit first available for the RC10 that is shown at this link? http://oi42.tinypic.com/25f2kit.jpg
