8 wheels are better than 4
i thought you guys would get a kick out of this. here are pictures of my dually tires that i ran when everybody at the track was experimenting with a hot new tire setup. like 2 years ago our truck class was huge and everybody was looking for the edge. the current schumacher tires we run are pretty much at their limit as far as grip on a polished concrete floor. so guys were trying all kinds of tires in hopes of finding the perfect one mainly looking for something smaller than heavy a 4" truck tire. well next to the silicone capped tires that i ran that stuck like glue and were quickly outlawed i came up with this. i thought that since the staggered rib buggy tires we run on the cars worked so well how could i get them on the truck while still using the mandatory truck rims as the rules state. well it was a strech, literally, i streched 2 slim buggy 2.1"car tires on to 2.2" truck rims. well my first thought was no way in hell are they going to allow these but the track promoter took one look ,laughed and said "i dont care if you guys want to strech rubber bands on your rims as long as they are on truck rims i will allow them". i was shocked he let me run them but i did. they worked awesome as long as i could keep the right front tire from bouncing as it went through the corner. the truck would rocket off the corner due to the less rotating massbut i still struggled with turning.i ran them for half the year until i took them off due to the bouncing issues.turns out they were too much grip for the front end and would skip the right front along the track squealing and foaming up the shock oil.

Re: 8 wheels are better than 4
i had like 3 of the tracks fastest guys helping me on the setup,i think it was more like they were trying to get it to work so they could steal my idea and beat me at my own game. one guy suggested take off the right front shock and put a tie rod in its place,so we did and the truck flipped right over when i turned. anyway the best we could get it to work was run the suspension rigid and set the sterring rate at zero and it would still hop slightly. we had pretty much to the point where it would turn itself it was wicked fast and guys started complaning so i deceded to take them off. the real kicker was when i put the 4" truck tires back on the dual tire suspension setup worked even better than the way we set up for the large tires. i put like 2 laps on the feild that night and went home and wrote every thing down. i still use that setup to this day and the guys havent put 2 and 2 together that they helped me get faster, like gee thanks guys.

Re: 8 wheels are better than 4
I use to run buggy street tires on truck rims.Gave them a low profile look and really gripped.Used the buggy foam inserts too stretched over the rim.So much grip on track itd sling the beads off some and the foam insert would start sticking out.Or id wear the tread out and wear a hole in it so the foam come out some. One set last a season.Nothn but slicks after that.Proline roadhawgs think it was.DON
ps.put fuel tubing over shock shaft works great
