T2 #6132 Body - what was it based off of?
As in Chevy-Dodge-Ford, or was it meant to be generic? It's driving me nuts

Not an official answer, but it always made me think of a ford F150. It looks more like ford than the chevy or dodge of the time.

That was my immediate thought until I looked at the sticker sheet, the headlights and corner lights don't look like an early 90's Ford. Maybe you're correct and due to licensing, they changed some details to make it more generic looking? To me it looked more like a GMC Sonoma 4x4? Kinda

I don't think any of the bodies past the 10t/original GT are actually based of any real trucks, but the t2 and gtII body both used the original grille/headlights from the series 1 bodies. The series 1 bodies and decals are series 1 Chevy S-10.

Shorne-that's a Ranger.
I agree that they most closely resemble an S-10/Sonoma.

sixtysixduece - Right, I noticed that after posting.
I was looking at 1990's Baja 500 ford trucks and thats the one that looked the most like it. If I look at the F150 I cant see too much resemblance now.

I'm pretty sure one of the ea truck decal sets had a Ford logo on it!

The only one that comes to mind off the top of my head is the proline f150 that came with the late ft gt's. Could that be the one you're thinking of?slotcarrod wrote:I'm pretty sure one of the ea truck decal sets had a Ford logo on it!

Just looked, it was the T3 sticker sheet that had the Ford logos, I think Ford was what they were closest to with the T2 also without getting the licensing!justinspeed79 wrote:The only one that comes to mind off the top of my head is the proline f150 that came with the late ft gt's. Re: T2 #6132 Body - what was it based off of?
I think you're correct Rod, thanks! Maybe they needed a body before licensing was granted and kept it somewhat generic?
The only 2 older Fords I found was inspiring and one has already been done by Tamiya and by simply applying that to the T2 wouldn't be too unique or creative in my opinion The other I'm going to keep quite on until I find better references to do the masks for paint
I did do the Baja anyway, graphics came out great but paint came out a bit sub par It's fine for a runner body

That's strange, wouldn't they need licensing for the stickers too?
