But, it's got mud-flaps! Now you gotta have the silver-colored "Mud-flap Girl" stickers to put on 'em...
First car I saw with mud-flaps as a feature.

Wow, my friend was right way back in May.

Little late for sure. Summer is over and the peak buying season for it is over. But maybe this will give them time to ramp up production for next year. But by next year the other guys will probably improve theirs.

Re: New SCT XXX Based
I bet you your conversion will outperform it too, even if they come out with a CR version. The conversions have a GREAT weight distribution. I've done 2 home conversions. One where I extended the front end (much like a standard SCT) and one where I extended the rear. The rear extension has better handling and is a better jumper.markt311 wrote:I'll stick with my CRC XXXT conversion, too little too late Losi.

Re: New SCT XXX Based
I raced at the track where they shot the video last night. The race director said a couple of the guys let him beat on the truck for a couple packs. Very durable and they handled good out of the box. Then he drove one of the team drivers trucks (with a different set up) and said it was absolutely awesome.
BTW...he has both the CRC and Exotek kits, he said he will be selling both and picking this truck up when it comes out (end of November is the word on the street).
I want to sit back and wait and see....bout the only thing I was impressed with, they brough back the black shocks (XX era) for the truck.

Re: New SCT XXX Based
I bet it will be a fine truck, the XXXT is a solid platform. It's been out for awhile and has gone through quite a few refinements. If I didn't have the CRC truck I would think about getting one, a little late to get in the game. Losi tried the strike first because it was more basher friendly, like the slash. Then all these racer kits came out and they have adapted to meet the needs of their customers.
I just wish it came with threaded shocks
Everyone is in a hate on Losi mood lately, Heck they hate on AE's new products too. I need to get me a pair of those rose colored glasses so I can be like everyone else
Where's the sarcasm font?

Re: New SCT XXX Based
Hmmm...could it be "Strike 2" for Loozi?
It looks a little better..
At least the chassis doesn't look quite as fragile as the SC10's.

Re: New SCT XXX Based
I raced one of the first sc10's for over a year and put it through hell and back and never broke a chassis, never saw anyone else break one either. In fact my old SC10 is still being raced by another local racer and he's had no problems.

Re: New SCT XXX Based
I bet next years race tracks will have SC10 and XXX SCT all over the leader board. Just like the good ole days.
I was starting to loose hope with losi. This brings some back.

Re: New SCT XXX Based
Maybe Im missing something, or expected too much??. I was hoping for a game changer or at least a full out race truck, titanium this, grafite that, 4wd, ball diff, hell ball bearings?
For something that is released 2 years too late...should be like wow! look at me Im gonna shake this class up, not just follow everyone else and hopefully make some sales.
I hope I have to eat these words ,cus I Love Losi always have. Just not feeling it with this truck so far.
But I guess cant keep everyone happy!

Re: New SCT XXX Based
I was just wondering...with people all still saying how great the RC10's and Optimas/Ultimas were, back in their day, and still holding their own against today's buggies, if you discount electronics, how much further can offroad mechanical technology advance? Sure you have your lightweight materials but what more can be done to improve on the high-end suspensions & drivetrains of the late 80's?
To put it another way: Take a vintage RC10 or Optima or Ultima or whatever, bolt on all the upgrades you can find, put in a brushless system with modern battery, and compare it to something that's race-ready today. How competitive would that old RC10 or whatever be?
