For the Aussies in Melbourne, There is weekly indoor off road carpet racing at Adrenalin Arena, 9 swift Way, Dandenong. It's a purpose built 1/10 on road and off road venue. It's high bite asphalt for on road and they lay down carpet/jumps for off road.
I picked up a RC10 Stealth and raced it 2 nights ago in the Vintage Comp class (17.5 Brushless or equivalent brushed allowed) There is also a Vintage classic class which is for silver can motors only - borught back memories seeing 9 Tamiya's and an Optima Mid race with whining silver can motors:) . Both Vintage classes had full fields, In fact most other classes were full - some were double fields. There is also colts (juniors) 2wd stock/open, 4wd ( if numbers allow) 2wd and 4wd SC in stock and open
Dust off your shelfy, dig out the old boxes and blow off the dust and come racing.
I raced in a 24hr on road enduro at Adrenalin in Feb - what a blast. Apparently a few international teams have shown interest for next years event. They may even hold an off road enduro too.
Every Wednesday night off road racing starts at 7pm - register by 6.30pm
Selected Saturday racing starts at about 2pm.
Every Tuesday and Friday has on road starting a 7pm
The South Eastern RC Car Club - serccc.com - also uses the venue for fortnightly club racing on Sundays and state/national comp events.

Oh yeah forgot to mention - the winner of 2wd mod also won the Vintage race, driving an improved RC10 classic box art
I came 2nd:) Not bad for a 30 year old car with leaking shocks and unsuited tyres. I had to cut spikes out of the front ribs just to get terrible grip. I had one race with a b44.2 a few months ago on the same track. My RC10 drives very well considering......
